The legendary Haçienda nightclub celebrated its 30th anniversary on 21st May 2012.
To coincide with this, the track All Along the Dotted Line by The Photo Kid, and Godley and Creme, was released for the very first time, along with a brand new video.
Recorded 30 years ago, the song was written and recorded by The Photo Kid (aka Ben Kelly), co-produced by Kevin Godley and Lol Creme (formerly of 10CC) and engineered by Nigel Gray at Surrey Sounds Studio. It features Godley and Creme on all the instruments, with The Photo Kid on vocals, keyboards and fire extinguisher.
Working for Ditto TV, I was lucky enough to collaborate with Ben Kelly and create an accompanying video for the track.
Drawing on reoccurring visual motifs and themes that Ben has used throughout his career, the video is both a celebration of his work and a tribute to Manchester's most famous nightspot.
